mcm media’s Hot Hits soars, as ‘Lowie’ takes it higher
30 Apr 2010
The Hot Hits Live from LA’ presented by Optus, mcm media’s new national radio program broadcast from the entertainment capital of the world, has welcomed Craig ‘Lowie’ Low to the on-air team.
Bringing a new dimension to the already popular weekly show with his brash comedic style, Lowie joins host Andrew Günsberg and co-host Natalia Perez in the role of ‘street reporter’.
Since bursting onto the airwaves just four months ago, The Hot Hits Live from LA, designed in partnership with Austereo, has delivered more A-list celebrities, Hollywood gossip, and hot music hits, than a Snoop Dogg pool party. As a result, more than one million people around the country are tuning in for their weekly dose of LA entertainment.
Now the on air party kicks up a notch with Lowie reporting from red carpets, movie premieres and local music events, giving listeners a unique Aussie take on what’s happening around Hollywood. When he’s not busy schmoozing with the stars, Lowie hits the streets to take on the hot issues of the day with the good people of LA, producing some hilarious radio moments.
"This gig is a Dreamboat! When the chance to join The Hot Hits Live from LA team sailed in, I had to jump on board and fire some cannons!
It's an awesome job mixing it on the street with Hollywood Superstars and LA Freaks on a weekly basis and something I pride myself on. And hey, I haven’t once been punched in the face… yet!” said Lowie.
At only 24 years of age, Lowie has close to 10 years experience in Australian radio including a 3-year stint as the host of the Hot 30 Countdown on the Today Network and multiple industry award nominations. His no-holds-barred persona has earned him thousands of fans – and the occasional critic - but there’s no doubting his original talent.
Following various TV presenting roles, Lowie returned to radio last year when he moved to LA to host the successful ‘Lowie V America’ program for Southern Cross Media, now in its second year.
With Lowie firmly entrenched in The Hot Hits Live from LA, the program is set to ramp up the exclusive content in the coming weeks with a massive outside broadcast from Wango Tango - one of LA’s biggest music festivals.
The incredible star power the show has attracted so far continues to gain momentum. Rihanna , Denzel Washington, Foo Fighters, Usher, Jennifer Aniston, John Travolta, and Linkin Park are some of the big names recently featured on the show. Coming up this month, The Hot Hits Live from LA will play host to many stars, including Kim Kardashian, Sam Worthington and Jay Sean just to name a few.
The Hot Hits Live from LA is broadcast every Sunday afternoon from 2pm on 60 stations across Australia, including the Today Network and Southern Cross Media. Fans can access the show content online at thehothits.com and on mobile via Optus Zoo.
