Vanessa Amorosi rocks her brave new style at the Take 40 Live Lounge

14 Mar 2010

Internationally renowned Australian singer/songwriter Vanessa Amorosi treated a select group of fans to an electric performance on Friday night at the renowned ‘Take 40 Live Lounge’ in Sydney. Fresh off the back of a national tour with Rob Thomas and the hugely successful release of her fifth studio album, Amorosi was in fine form to deliver an unforgettable performance in the intimate setting of the Live Lounge.

Displaying her incredible raw talent and an exciting new foray into dance-inspired pop-rock, Amorosi performed songs from her latest album ‘Hazardous’ including her new single “Mr Mysterious”, and the smash hit “This Is Who I Am”. It was this single that debuted at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart then spent nine weeks in the Top 10 and is rapidly approaching double platinum sales.

The Take 40 Live Lounge is a unique series that offers die-hard fans a rare live music experience. Stripped of arena trappings, but utilizing state-of-the-art studio facilities, the performance environment brings a tight focus onto the artist, the songs and the connection between performer and fan.

”The Live Lounge is a great live music concept; it’s not often you get to perform with your audience so close. The energy in the crowd tonight was amazing – I can’t wait to come back,” Amorosi said.

For those not lucky enough to be there, Amorosi’s Take 40 Live Lounge performance will air on Network Ten on Sunday 4 April at 11.30am, presented by Video Hits. Photos from the night are online NOW at www.take40.com, with the full show and behind the scenes footage available to stream online from April 4.

The Take 40 Live Lounge is one of the many extensions of Take 40 Australia; a brand that originated with the country’s first music countdown on radio and has evolved to incorporate a top rating music website, mobile content, TV and live events. The current Take 40 Live Lounge series is being produced to support the Australian Government’s anti-binge drinking message, ‘Don’t Turn A Night Out Into A Nightmare’. With an average of one in four Australians dying each week due to alcohol related injuries, the campaign is designed to keep this message top of mind amongst young Australians.

Music fans can win tickets to the next Take 40 Live Lounge show on March 31st, via take40.com, Video Hits, Austereo’s Hot 30 Countdown and girlfriend.com.au.
