Jessica Mauboy on fire at KIA SOUL Live At The Chapel

5 Aug 2009

10 July 2009: Australia’s hottest pop diva Jessica Mauboy burnt up the stage last night at the second Kia Soul Live At The Chapel at Sydney’s Paddington Uniting Church, in her highly anticipated first ever live show.

Strutting her stuff in trademark heels, Jessica showed the full house what she was made of as she belted out the hits from her platinum album, including the #1 smash “Burn”, “Running Back”, “Been Waiting” and her new top 10 single “Because”. As Jessica rocked out with her full band, audience members danced along, singing all the words to her chart toppers!

Jessica was blown away by the event, saying “Wow, what a fantastic night. The intimacy of the venue and vibe coming from the audience was just amazing – it was good for the soul! I never imagined I’d be a part of Live At The Chapel. I’ve always been the one at home, watching it on TV, it was such an incredible experience”.

mcm media Chief Executive, Mr Simon Joyce, echoed the sentiment, saying “Jessica is an amazing local talent. The crowd was treated to an evening of fantastic Australian music and Jessica proved that she is definitely a star on the rise”.

Steve Watt, national marketing manager at Kia Motors Australia, said last night’s concert again endorsed Kia Soul, Australia’s hottest new car, as the obvious choice to partner with Live At The Chapel, Australia’s premier live music event. “Jessica Mauboy is a fantastic Australian talent. Her performance last night and the audience response really showed again why Kia Soul’s sponsorship of Australia’s Live At The Chapel just makes sense,” he said.

With last night’s Live At The Chapel experience under her belt, Jessica is getting ready for a national tour with Beyonce in September alongside some stand-alone shows with Flo Rida.

Fans can catch Jessica’s performance when it airs on the Seven Network on 23rd August at 11.30am and Channel [V] on 1st September at 7.30pm.

With two sensational shows now completed, the revamped, Sydney-based Kia Soul Live At The Chapel continues to grow in stature. The ’09 series will roll out a further three events this year, featuring a variety of local and international music acts and continuing a proud tradition of bringing the biggest names in the business to music fans all over the country.
