New show from The Hot Hits® gets UP CLOSE & Personal with the hottest stars - Pop’s ‘it’ girl Lily Allen wows fans at first exclusive event

Pop sensation Lily Allen set the record straight on rumours at an exclusive event on Tuesday night as she gave a tell-all interview with Ruby Rose in front a small studio audience of captivated fans.

Appearing at the first 'The Hot Hits'® and Carefree® Slims™ UP CLOSE & Personal event for 2009, straight-talking Lily chatted candidly with Ruby about dating (was it true she was dating an Aussie?), Katy Perry’s fat comments, buying a beach, and why she really sent topless photos to one of the Kaiser Chiefs.

Down under on a sell-out tour, the stylish singer/songwriter also gave an explosive acoustic performance, singing hits from her No 1 album It’s Not Me, It’s You, including the catchy smash hit ‘The Fear’.

This exclusive gig is not to be missed and highlights from Lily’s special appearance will be available at www.thehothits.com from today and on tomorrow’s ‘The Hot Hits’® radio show. Fans can check out the full event on the 8th and 11th July, when it airs on MTV at 10pm and 1pm respectively.

New for 2009, 'The Hot Hits'® and Carefree® Slims™ UP CLOSE & Personal series gives Aussie fans the chance to get UP CLOSE & Personal with some of today’s biggest and hottest names in music.

Hosted by the cool Ruby Rose, each of the three shows features a no-holds-barred interview and a special acoustic performance. Taking place in an intimate studio setting, the lucky audience of fans have won the opportunity to be there by entering the competition at www.thehothits.com. With unique access to their music idol, some fans even get the chance to ask their own burning questions, and find out what they’ve always wanted to know about their favourite star.

On Tuesday, when asked about weird fan experiences, the outspoken Brit shared stories of her stalker who claims to have written her song ‘The Fear’. She also shared the goss on her latest projects from bringing out a jewellery range, working with Chanel, and appearing on Neighbours.

“I had a wonderful time at ‘The Hot Hits’® and Carefree® Slims™ UP CLOSE & Personal event. The set up was fantastic. It reminded me of being on my sofa, except here I was talking to one my favourite artists, Lily Allen! Lily was terrific – energetic, charismatic, a good fun honest individual and I really enjoyed the opportunity to interview her,” said Ruby Rose.
